Dear Brooke It Forward Family,
Recently, I had the privilege of being named Leadership St. Tammany’s 2025 Alumna of the Year. Leadership St. Tammany graduates are among the most respected leaders and servants in our community, so to be honored by my peers is deeply humbling.
This recognition is also a testament to the impact that Brooke It Forward is having. And because of that, this honor is a testament to YOU—a valued member of the Brooke It Forward family.
It is truly a reflection of God’s grace and the remarkable community that surrounds this mission. Everything beautiful that Brooke It Forward has accomplished is His work, carried out through your generosity, your prayers, your hands, and your hearts.
At the event, we joked that Brooke It Forward is a bit like the “fun aunt” (or funky uncle!) of the nonprofit family tree—the one who shows up with sprinkles, joy, and maybe a little too much sugar—before sending children back to our incredible mission partners who do the daily, transformational work of:
- Feeding hungry bellies
- Giving a voice to children in foster care
- Providing safety, justice, and healing to the abused
It is truly an honor to support our amazing Mission Partners.
But behind every box…
behind every celebration…
behind every smile…is YOU!
Because of that, this recognition is not mine alone—it reflects what a faithful, generous, and joy-filled community can accomplish together.
I was also deeply humbled to look out and see so many friends, family members, volunteers, board members, and supporters celebrating with us. The photos from the night tell the story better than any words ever could—a room filled with love, laughter, and true community spirit. I am especially grateful that our daughter, Megan, was there to stand with us as we continue modeling what it means to grieve with hope and build something beautiful out of loss.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you for believing in the power of celebrating children—one birthday at a time.
